THE START – Badgerland Realtors, LLC was formed in 2006 but our discount listing idea was originated by a sister company, 2.4 Realty, LLC, in August, 2000. Between 2006 and 2008 we simultaneously ran both companies. The idea was to see what combination of discount commission services Sellers wanted and at what price point they were comfortable. The working Hypothesis was that most Sellers don’t want to pay 6%, yet they don’t want to do all the work either.

In 2009 the operations of 2.4 Realty were merged into Badgerland and that has brought us to where we are today. Our combination flat fee/discount commission selling model is designed to maximize the savings to home sellers without sacrificing the essential services needed to sell a property.  Full Service with a low/reduced commission is our goal.

While the traditional real estate companies sell hard to try to convince you that Open Houses and Print Ads are worth paying 6%, Badgerland instead operates in a high-tech, efficient manner. The way real estate broker’s marketed properties in the 80’s and 90’s is now old news. Back then it was expensive to advertise and difficult to mass market a property. Open Houses really did work – many of you probably bought your last home that way. The reason they worked is because Real Estate Brokers and the local MLS’s held all the property information very close to the vest. It was in their best interest to keep you dependent on them. Because all the valuable property information was so closely held, you were dependent on Open Houses and Print Ads.
